Computer Cabinet
The Computer Cabinet is the technology outreach program of the Children’s Cabinet. Beginning in 2002, the Computer Cabinet has provided community access to state-of-the-art equipment, modern facilities, and trained staff. The Beginning Computer Skills workshops provide four hours of training over two days; morning and evening series are offered.

Workshop Descriptions
Getting Comfortable with Computers—We introduce new users to the fundamentals of using a personal computer. This 2-hour session provides hands-on practice with basic hardware, mouse and keyboard use, and basic Microsoft Windows navigation at a comfortable pace.
- Moving on with Microsoft Windows—This 2-hour workshop provides hands-on instruction on a range of Microsoft Windows topics, including windows navigation, customizing windows, and using Microsoft Windows accessories.
Microsoft Word Basics—This workshop introduces the basics of using Microsoft Word. Topics include: creating, saving, and opening documents; working with text; basic formatting; and finishing a document. Basic Microsoft Windows experience is recommended for this workshop.
