Homeless and runaway youth in Washoe County are estimated as high as 1500. Homeless and runaway
youth may feel unsafe going home, be pushed out of the home or simply unable to cope with family discord
and/or substance abuse. Truancy, sexual exploitation, drug trafficking and worse are experiences familiar to
many homeless and runaway youth reluctant to approach adults for help. Nationally, teen drop-in centers
such as this are an effective mechanism to assist families and address the homeless and runaway youth
population. Please show your support by being our guest at the open house.
