Literacy Programs

The Children’s Cabinet is collaborating with the University of Nevada, Cooperative Extension, KNPB Channel 5’s Ready to Learn Service and Washoe County School District’s Early Childhood Education Department to provide the following literacy programs to children and their families in Washoe County:

Family Storyteller

Family Storyteller invites parents and their young children to explore a variety of books and discover the many aspects of learning through children’s literature.

Rosetta Stone

Rosetta Stone is a self-paced, computer program designed to assist adult Spanish speakers with English language skills. Rosetta Stone guides the student through a series of interactive steps, offering a visual measurement of the spoken response.

All of The Children’s Cabinet’s literacy programs are offered at no cost to families.

If you would like more about these literacy programs, e-mail Patricia Lopez or call her at (775) 352-8090.
