As part of the award, The Children’s Cabinet receives a $30,000 grant from the PGA TOUR to support the organization’s family and youth programs. The Children’s Cabinet is a northern Nevada nonprofit organization that exists to keep children safe and families together by offering services and resources that address unmet needs in the community.
What we do
The Children's Cabinet exists to keep children safe and families together by offering services and resources that address unmet needs through a unique and effective cooperative effort between the private sector and public agencies in Northern Nevada.
In the past year, we have been able to help more than 11,000 families. The Children’s Cabinet’s work extends past the immediate needs of youth and families to promote happy, healthy families. Its services include providing food and shelter, crisis intervention and case management, academic support, tutoring, job training and transitional living, assistance with child care in Nevada, parenting classes and family counseling.
Each child has the right to lead a healthy, safe existence that will promote their capacity and opportunity to become responsible, productive adult citizens. Ensuring access to these services can strengthen families. The Children’s Cabinet believes in promoting and encouraging an environment within families, schools and neighborhoods that values the unique characteristics of each individual. The goal of The Children’s Cabinet is to keep children safe and families together.
