Quality Specialist – SnapEd Educator

The Supporting Early Education and Development (SEED) Provider Education Quality Specialist will provide child care provider education training and technical assistance in physical activity, supporting breastfeeding, and nutrition. This position requires an understanding of early childhood education, indicators of quality care, and adult learning styles.

Quality Coordinator – MITM/VROOM

We are looking for a qualified person to be the statewide coordinator.  This position can be based in Las Vegas or in Reno.

The MITM/Vroom coordinator’s primary function is to create a structured, supported network of MITM trainers who are strategically located across Nevada to meet the needs of parents across Nevada’s 17 counties. This role will require significant outreach to community partner agencies across Nevada to recruit MITM partner agencies for long-term sustainability of this effort. This position is also required to promote Vroom to parents, early learning providers, and partner agencies.

A successful candidate will have a 4 year degree in Early Childhood Education, or a closely related field.  They must also be at least a Level 4 Trainer on the NV Registry.

Communications Coordinator

The Children’s Cabinet has an opening for a full-time Communications Coordinator.  This position will be located in Reno at the Rock office.  The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for raising community awareness of The Children’s Cabinet’s mission and programs. This includes further developing and implementing a comprehensive communications plan with strategies for utilizing media and corporate contacts, website and social media content, advertisements, public service announcements, and media releases. Quality Specialist (Community Education)

The Community Education Quality Specialist will provide community and parent engagement activities covering a variety of topics ranging from early childhood to adolescence to family work/life issues. This position requires an understanding of early childhood education and indicators of quality care, child development, and NACCRRA best practices for parent education and engagement services. Full time ECSN Teacher (Early Childhood Support Teacher)

ECSN teachers provide temporary care in child care centers and licensed family child care homes.  This is a full time position that may include a variable schedule, accountable to the quality program coordinator.  Specific training will be provided to meet basic criteria for providing quality child care.  There are special requirements listed for this position due to child care regulations so please read the job description.  Anyone interested in the position needs to provide a resume to HR@childrenscabinet.org.  This position will remain open until filled.

Therapist (multiple opportunities)

The Children’s Cabinet is seeking qualified Therapists: Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT)/MFT Intern; Clinical Professional Therapist (CPC)/CPC Intern; Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)/CSW Interns for work in the Reno area.

This position provides direct services to youth and families referred to the Family Counseling Program for family therapy.  The Therapist/Intern will provide services to the Children’s Cabinet clients to work with the family on relationships, communication, and other family issues.  The Therapist/Intern may also facilitate therapeutic groups as determined by The Children’s Cabinet.  The Therapist/Intern will work within a team setting with other Cabinet staff to facilitate the prompt and efficient delivery of services.

CAY Youth Advisor

The Children’s Cabinet is looking to employ qualified people as Youth Advisors for the Center for Aspiring Youth (CAY).  There are full-time and part-time positions available.  The CAY is a 24 residential facility.

Youth Advisors primary role is to maintain a safe, healthy, and appropriate environment for service delivery to homeless and/or marginally housed transitional aged youth at the transitional living center – The Center for Aspiring Youth (CAY).  Youth Advisors are responsible for the direct observation, supervision (at facility and outings), guidance, maintaining facility control through shift coverage, providing information about availability and types of services to clients, providing certain services to clients, and documenting efforts. Youth Advisors are Direct Care Staff Members, and as such, must complete a background check through Washoe County Social Services
