It demonstrates skills for raising children in the unique blended family environment\, along with powerful communication and negotiation skills to strengthen marriage and family. The program covers topics that are unique to stepfamilies: the stepparent’s role\, emotional baggage\, differences in values\, discipline\, power struggles\, and celebrating your blended family’s achievements. \nThis is a 5 sessions in person class\, for 5 consequtive Tuesdays on  5/28; 6/4; 6/11; 6/18 and 6/25  Each class is 2 hrs. DESCRIPTION:Please be aware that you will be asked to adhere to all current social distancing guidelines and COVID-19 safety protocols\n\n\nInstructor: Debbie Harpster \nNevada Registry Approved: 2.0 hours \nCKA:  Health\, Nutrition & Safety \nThis training is based off the Enough Abuse Curriculum\, so we will stress the importance of body safety for children and how to help caregivers overcome any barriers to teaching children in their care.   \nTraining Objectives: \n1. Learners will be able to understand the benefits of communicating about body safety. They will know body safety tips to practice with children. \n2. They will know ways and strategies to teach parents and children about practicing this safety. \n3. Learners will be able to understand the benefits of communicating about body safety. They will know body safety tips to practice with children. \n \nPlease Note: This training DOES NOT satisfy the requirements  of the 2 hour requirement every five years to complete “recognizing and reporting abuse”.  \nEach professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience.
