DESCRIPTION:Please be aware that you will be asked to adhere to all current social distancing guidelines and COVID-19 safety protocols\n\n\nInstructor: Janna Rightmire \nNevada Registry Approved:  2.0 Hours \nCKA: Environment & Curriculum \nParticipants will learn strategies to engage children in communication. Participants will learn language and literacy activities and strategies to increase communication skills with children. Strategies will also be shared around using books to increase language development. \nTraining Objectives: \n1 . Participants will practice expansion with a partner and create a list of words to use in the classroom for expansion. \n2 . Participants will create a list of questions to use in centers and during large group to encourage children to communicate. \n3 . Participants will use ideas gained in training to design a lesson around a book that will increase language in the classroom. \nEach professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training. DESCRIPTION:Build parenting confidence in just one hour with Connect With Your Teen Workshops\n\n\nConnect With Your Teen Workshops help parents and caregivers communicate with their teen in positive and healthy ways using Living Ideation (c) concepts. Participants learn how to talk to their teens more effectively\, recognize their teen’s current skillsets and talents\, boost and improve mental health\, learn strategies that can help a teen’s mindset\, and consider ways to grow their teen’s connections and achievements. A single workshop is all a parent/caregiver needs to begin this shift. Parents and caregivers can attend as many additional workshops as they would like to get reminders and feedback. \nAll participants are provided a workbook and wallet card to prompt conversations with their teens. \nRegistration not required.  \nAvailable in English and Spanish.
