Help us Bring Holiday Cheer to Families in Need
The holidays should be a time of hope and giving, but for many local families, the holidays can be stressful. At The Children’s Cabinet, through our generous community partners, businesses, and individuals, we will make every effort to make the 2025 Holiday Season a little brighter for those in need during challenging times.

Who We Help
The Children’s Cabinet’s Adopt A Family program provides holiday gifts to our clients who need help around the holidays. Our clients work with their Case Manager on their dream wish list and we match them with an individual or corporate donor who will shop for their gifts.
Toy Table is a program for non-clients, open to community members who need extra help around the holidays providing gifts for their children. When a family in our community calls us for help, we ask them what their children like and go “shopping” from all of the toys donated by our generous community members.
Adopt A Family This Holiday Season!
We have recently had an influx of more families needing your support this holiday season. If you would like to support a family in the Washoe County community with gifts, please sign up by emailing Gilly using the button below.
How It Works:
- Decide what size family you would like to provide gifts for.
- You will receive information about your family, including first names, ages, gender and detailed wish lists.
- Go shopping and have fun!
- Wrap your gifts and label each one (including gift cards) with the family number and each individual’s name.
- Gifts can be dropped off at our Rock office (1090 S. Rock Blvd.) during set days and times that can be found below.
- Please note that all gifts for families will need to be dropped off by December 10th this year.

Gifts can be dropped off during the following set days and times:
Thursday, December 4th – Friday, December 5th from 7:30am – 5:00pm
Saturday, December 6th from 12pm – 3pm
Monday, December 8th – Wednesday, December 10th from 7:30am-6:00pm

Donate Toys or Host a Drive!
Brighten the holiday season for families in need by donating gift cards, or new, unwrapped toys, games, or coats for children ages 0-17.
Please make your contributions by December 15th so we can ensure they reach those who need them most. The Children’s Cabinet supports thousands in our community by providing essential items, warm coats, and joyful gifts. Your generosity makes it all possible—together, we can make a lasting difference!

Volunteer This Holiday Season!
Calling all elves! We are in need of YOUR help this season to help us bring the holidays to life for our clients and their families.
Tasks could be anything from shopping for toys (from our toy table), room re-organization, calling families to tell them the good news, and so much more!! This is an opportunity you won’t want to miss. There will be week AND weekend opportunities. Groups and Families welcome to volunteer together! Other Ways to Support
We know the holidays can be hectic, and finding time to shop isn’t always easy—but you can still spread joy! By making a donation, you’ll help brighten the season for local children and families. If you choose to donate, please designate “Holiday Donation” in the note section of your online donation by December 15th, 2025, and we will buy and distribute gifts to those in need.
