Help Bring Holiday Cheer to Local Families
The holiday season should be filled with joy, hope, and togetherness. Through the generosity of our community, The Children’s Cabinet helps bring holiday cheer to children and families across Northern Nevada.
Whether someone adopts a family, donates toys, volunteers, or makes a financial gift, their support helps provide gifts, essentials, and comfort to local families during the holiday season.

Adopt A Family
Shop for a specific family’s holiday wish list and help make the season brighter for local children and families.
Donate Toys or Gift Cards
Help stock our Toy Table with toys, coats, gift cards, and essentials for children in our community.
Volunteer
Help organize gifts, support families, and assist with holiday operations throughout the season.
Make a Financial Donation
Financial donations help us purchase and distribute gifts and essentials where they are needed most.
How Adopt A Family Works
1. Choose A Family Size
Choose the size of the family you would like to support. Sign Up for Adopt a Family 2026 Adopt A Family Holiday Program
2. Receive Your Family Match
Families will be matched and donors will receive family information, wish lists, children’s ages, and gift ideas.
3. Start Shopping!
Purchase gifts for your matched family and help make the holidays special.
4. Wrap & Label Gifts
Clearly label all items for your assigned family.
5. Drop Off Gifts
Bring wrapped gifts to our Rock Blvd. office during the holiday collection period listed below no later than December 9.
How to Donate Toys or Gift Cards
1. Choose What You’d Like to Donate
Suggested donations include:
- New, unwrapped toys
- Teen gifts
- Coats and winter essentials
- Gift cards
- Stocking stuffers
2. Purchase or Collect Items
Donations can be collected individually or through families, workplaces, schools, or community groups.

Visitors may also shop directly from our Amazon Wish List (wish list will be available in the near future).
3. Drop Off Your Donation
Donations can be dropped off at The Children’s Cabinet during the holiday collection period or by December 14.
How to Volunteer
1. Sign Up to Volunteer
Use our volunteer sign-up page to select the day and time that works best for your schedule.
2. Support Holiday Operations
Volunteer activities may include:
- Sorting and organizing toys
- Organizing donation drives
- Packing and selecting gifts for family wish lists
- Accepting and processing donations
3. Receive Volunteer Details
After signing up, our team will contact you with any additional information, volunteer location details, and next steps. Thank you for helping make the holidays brighter for local children and families!
How to Make a Financial Donation
1. Choose Your Giving Method
Donation options may include:
- One-time donations
- Monthly gifts
- Tribute or honorary gifts
- Corporate or group contributions
2. Make Your Donation Online
Complete a secure online donation through The Children’s Cabinet donation page. Please designate “2026 Holiday Donation” in the notes section of your online donation so your gift can directly support holiday assistance for local children and families.
