27th Annual Art of Childhood
Friday, August 15th, 2025
We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us for the 27th Annual Art of Childhood. Together, we celebrated 40 years of The Children’s Cabinet with an evening filled with meaningful moments — from exciting silent and live auctions, raffles, live art, and music, to a heartfelt awards presentation, delicious food and drinks, and a powerful Fund-a-Need that inspired us all.
Because of your generosity, every dollar raised supports our mission to keep children safe and families together through more than 40 programs.
Thank you for making this milestone year truly extraordinary — and for standing with us as we continue to build brighter futures for Nevada’s children and families.
This year’s theme, Pop of Ruby, symbolizes 40 years of strength, dedication, and resilience at The Children’s Cabinet. The attire is black & white with a Pop of Ruby. This event is held outside, so we highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes for walking on the grass, prepare for the heat, and bring a sweater in case the night cools down.

Art of Childhood will be held at The Club at Rancharrah, 6100 Rancharrah Parkway in Reno. Enter Rancharrah through the gatehouse entrance on Kietzke Lane. Tell the gate you are attending Art of Childhood.
Art of Childhood will begin at 5:30 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025. Check-in will begin at 5:00pm and the party begins at 5:30 with a Silent Auction Preview and a Cocktail and Hors d ‘Oeuvres Reception. We will serve dinner and begin the speaking program promptly at 6:30 p.m. We ask guests who may be running late to arrive before 6:30 p.m. and to allow time for valet parking and check-in.
The VIP Reception is an exclusive event for our Platinum, VIP, and Gold partners. This begins at 4:30pm and the guests of our VIP partners are invited to join us on the pickle ball courts for specialty cocktails, raffle prizes, and more exclusive VIP perks!
Self-parking and valet will be available for guests. Please allow more time when arriving and preparing to leave for valet services.
Rancharrah has a small parking lot that will be made available for handicapped parking, and bathrooms are ADA compliant. Also, wheelchairs can be pushed up to the tables and navigated through the event space. If you would like a Cabinet staff member to meet you or your guest at the curb or event entrance, simply contact Gilly Jackson (aoc@childrenscabinet.org) prior to the event. We are happy to accommodate any needs.
Table hosts, please follow the instructions to register your guests. You received a link if you purchased a table online, you were emailed a link if you purchased a table another way, or you may fill out the provided form. You can pre-register all of your guests through that link. We want to pre-register all guests to arrange seating and to ensure that check-in on the night of the event is fast and easy. At the event, check-in will run from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the registration table. There is no need to check out this year. No auction items will be taken home the night of the event. If you win an item, there will be instructions on how to receive your item the following week.
Bidding for the Silent Auction will take place through a system accessed on your mobile phone. (When the auction officially opens, we will be in touch with simple instructions on how to register your phone and start bidding.) If you don’t have a mobile phone, or don’t wish to use your phone to place a bid, event volunteers are happy to help and can place bids for you. The Silent Auction will open for browsing and bidding on August 13th and will close the morning of August 16th. Guests and those who are not able to attend the event in person are encouraged to bid. You will find our auction information at artofchildhood.org.
The Live Auction will be announced from the stage. Live Auction bidding takes place using bidding paddles given out at check-in.
Yes, we have options. Please inform us two weeks in advance if you or one of your guests have a dietary restriction.
By participating in Art of Childhood, you are helping local children and families. You are supporting The Children’s Cabinet’s mission, which is to keep children safe and families together. All Art of Childhood table sponsorships, raffle ticket purchases, winning auction bids, and donations directly benefit this work.
