This can include the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and resources to support equitable access to programs and services for the prenatal to age eight population. We are excited to start executing the work for our families here in Nevada and look forward to the amazing support of our community in order to achieve these goals.

Anna is currently working as the Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems (ECCS) Program Specialist at The Children’s Cabinet. She is a passionate advocate for mental health and has recently obtained a Certificate in Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health Family Leadership from Georgetown University. This program has provided her with the skills and knowledge necessary to sensitively and effectively interact with children and families as a community health worker. In her previous roles, Anna has served as an Early Childhood Community Health Worker in Southern Nevada and has been a part of the Strong Start for Children Parent Ambassador program. Anna enjoyed her time volunteering for Books and Buddies at Spread The Word Nevada, as well as mentoring for Women Who Create and the Summer Business Institute (SBI).

Rosa, a mother to 4 wonderful girls, is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno with a degree in Human Development and Family Sciences. She leads the Nevada Early Childhood Family Leadership Council (NECFLC) in Northern Nevada. By providing mentorship and networking opportunities, trainings, and resources, Rosa is helping to empower our state’s family leaders in advocating for positive changes in our early childhood system. Aside from her current work, Rosa has worked as a liaison between the community, schools, and families to help bridge the communication that is needed to promote academic success and trust. Rosa has also taken part in direct early childhood education services working for our local Early Head Start and for the Washoe County School District’s preschool program.
“Our family leaders want to make a change, they want to speak up, but often don’t know how or where to start. I hope the support I am providing to our family leaders can promote positive changes for our community. As a first-generation Mexican immigrant myself, I understand the struggles and barriers many families face in order to reach their goals. In my position, I hope to help share and empower the voice of those often unheard. As parents and caregivers, we all want what’s best for our children and for generations to come. We need to come together to help make that change happen.”
