(RENO, NV, July 5, 2017) – McDonald’s restaurants in Northern Nevada and The Children’s Cabinet have partnered to host the “I’m Lovin’ It Summer School Supplies Drive”. The two-day event will take place on July 15th and 16th.

Customers who donate new school supplies to any participating McDonald’s restaurant throughout Northern Nevada will receive a free Vanilla Ice Cream Cone for the donation.

All of the collected supplies will then be donated to The Children’s Cabinet who will distribute the supplies to children and families in need.

“We are thrilled to partner with The Children’s Cabinet for the “I’m Lovin’ It Summer School Supplies Drive” for another year,” said Robert Humason, a Reno McDonald’s franchise owner. “We take great pride in supporting academic success in young children and the local community. The Children’s Cabinet provides tremendous service to the children and families throughout our region and we greatly appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with them.”

The Children’s Cabinet has helped more than 11,000 families and has worked to keep children safe and families together since 1985. The non-profit agency provides services, resources and over 30 programs for children.

“We are very grateful that McDonald’s continually supports Northern Nevada’s children and their education. Because of the McDonald’s I’m Lovin It Summer School Supplies Drive, we have an opportunity to share the collected school supplies with the families that we serve,” said Kathleen Sandoval, Director of Operations at The Children’s Cabinet.

McDonald’s and the Children’s Cabinet currently work together on the Safe Place program, a service available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for youth experiencing violence or abuse. Northern Nevada McDonald’s restaurants are designated as a “Safe Place” for children to go to receive assistance.
