At just 14 years old, Jordan found himself in a situation no child should have to face. After a difficult and emotional argument at home, he felt unsafe and unsure of where to turn. Seeking help, Jordan ran to a neighbor’s house. Recognizing that Jordan needed support, the neighbor encouraged him to call the Safe Place hotline.

Within moments, Safe Place staff responded, meeting Jordan at a local McDonald’s—one of the many designated Safe Place locations in the community. With compassion and care, Safe Place staff, along with the McDonald’s team, helped Jordan feel secure and listened to as they assessed his situation.

Jordan and his family were soon connected with The Children’s Cabinet for case management and counseling services. Through these resources, they began to rebuild communication, understanding, and trust. The family also received food and essentials from the CC Market program, helping to ease their day-to-day burdens as they moved forward together.

Thanks to the quick thinking of his neighbor, the timely response of Safe Place staff, and the wraparound support from The Children’s Cabinet, Jordan’s story became one of safety, connection, and renewed hope.
