Celebrating the impact of Washoe YouthBuild in the Community

We’re proud of the impact our Washoe YouthBuild participants are making in our community!

Since 2013, more than 130 youth have rolled up their sleeves with The Children’s Cabinet’s Washoe YouthBuild program—earning diplomas, gaining professional skills, and preparing for meaningful careers. In partnership with STEP2 and local builders, nearly 20 youth gained hands-on experience while helping renovate transitional cottages that provide safe, supportive housing for women and children. This collaboration is a powerful example of what happens when community partners come together to create lasting change. Guided by professional crews, the youth worked on everything from demolition to painting to final touches, gaining real-world trade skills while seeing firsthand how their efforts would impact families.
