Before coming to Redfield Academy, Lucinda had a hard time fitting into a traditional high school setting. She often felt lost and unmotivated, unsure of what she wanted for her future. When she first heard about The Children’s Cabinet, she wasn’t sure it was the right place for her—but enrolling in Redfield Academy ended up changing everything.
At Redfield, Lucinda found a space where people truly cared about her success. She was surrounded by teachers and staff who encouraged her to focus on her goals and believe in herself again. Slowly, her confidence started to grow.
That’s when she discovered Cabinet Ink, a youth-run digital printing business where students explore where students explore photography, design, and digital art. What started as a workforce development project and part-time job soon became something much bigger for her. She loved capturing moments through a camera lens and experimenting with design software—especially learning Photoshop and creating projects she could be proud of.
Through her time at Redfield and Cabinet Ink, Lucinda realized she wanted to continue building on these creative skills after graduation. She found a sense of direction and purpose, along with the motivation to keep moving forward.
