Mia and Jordan began working with The Children’s Cabinet in the spring through the Parents as Teachers program, an evidence-based home visiting model designed to support early childhood parent education, strengthen family well-being, and help children grow, learn, and reach their full potential. Living in transitional housing and navigating financial instability, they were doing everything they could to rebuild stability. As the holiday season approached, stress grew, Mia and Jordan knew they wouldn’t be able to afford gifts or decorations for their children.
After learning about the family’s situation, their case manager enrolled them in the Adopt-A-Family program. Mia and Jordan were matched with a generous donor who provided holiday decorations and gifts for every member of their household.
For the first time since the pandemic, their family will be able to celebrate a truly joyful holiday, one filled with warmth, excitement, and the sense of togetherness they had been longing for.
Mia and Jordan shared heartfelt gratitude for the Adopt-A-Family donors and for the case management support that helped connect them to the resources they needed most.
Thanks to coordinated care and the kindness of the community, the family ended the year with renewed hope and a stronger foundation for the future.
