Reno, NV – As The Children’s Cabinet celebrates 40 years of keeping children safe and families together, the organization proudly announces the launch of Pathways to Program Success, a new initiative designed to empower and equip Nevada’s child care business owners and administrators with the tools, guidance, and support needed to build strong, sustainable programs.

Rooted in the same mission that has guided the nonprofit for four decades, Pathways to Program Success is a direct response to a gap identified in Nevada’s child care landscape. This innovative program is now accepting applications for its July–September 2025 cohort and offers a personalized pathway for child care businesses seeking to improve quality, enhance sustainability, and confidently navigate Nevada’s child care system. Through hands-on coaching, professional development, and tailored support, Pathways to Program Success empowers child care business leaders to build stronger, more resilient programs for the families they serve.

“As we reflect on our 40th anniversary, we are not just celebrating our history—we are reaffirming our promise to evolve alongside the changing needs of our community,” said Kim Young, CEO of The Children’s Cabinet. “Pathways to Program Success is the latest example of how we listen to child care leaders, families, and children and respond with innovative solutions.”

Child care business owners and administrators enrolled in the free program receive:

  • Dedicated one-on-one coaching and mentorship
  • In-depth business consultation and quality support
  • Targeted trainings and resources for sustainable program development
  • Networking opportunities to connect with other child care leaders sharing ideas, challenges, and solutions

While in-person consultation services will be offered exclusively in the Las Vegas area for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, Pathways to Program Success is open to licensed child care centers and prospective providers throughout Nevada. Providers outside Las Vegas will benefit from the expanded training calendar and virtual coaching opportunities.

Over the past 40 years, The Children’s Cabinet has built a reputation for launching responsive programs that meet the evolving needs of children and families—from Safe Place and family counseling to workforce readiness and parenting classes. Pathways to Program Success continues that tradition by focusing on the vital role early childhood educators play in shaping Nevada’s future.

“Strong early childhood programs are foundational to a thriving community,” said Young. “By helping child care business owners and administrators grow and succeed, we’re ensuring more children have access to safe, high-quality, and enriching environments.”

Applications for the July–September cohort are now open. Interested participants are encouraged to apply early, as space is limited.
