The Vroom Corner – February 2022

Sara Schrichte sschrichte@childrenscabinet.org
Welcome to February’s Vroom Corner! Just a reminder, the goal of this blog is to empower you to play a role in children’s early brain development. This month we look at ways Vroom can help build little ones’ early literacy skills. I hope this is something that you can use. You can always reach out to me for more, including classes, customized handouts and free materials.

Building Early Literacy Skills with Vroom

Sharing Songs and Stories

Your child loves listening to their favorite stories and songs over and over again. Your voice is one of your child’s favorite playthings. Children learn through repetition and back and forth conversations. Repeated storytelling and singing helps them understand the meaning behind words and sets them up for talking. Your child is learning the basics and the joy of communication.

Program Highlight: Las Vegas Clark County Library District

Our friends at the Las Vegas Clark County Library District have been introducing families and child care providers to Vroom and its brain building concepts in all of their early childhood programs. Attend a storytime or check out all of the great videos and resources at the Library District’s Ready for K webpage!
