Family counseling is an important service for families struggling with a variety of fears and concerns. Therapists can help parents have more meaningful relationships with their child, address concerning behavior, and teach families to have better communication and solve problems together.

Our no-cost services are based on a short-term strength-based model and allow families to get the help and support they need, even if they can’t afford it.  Families with children birth to 17 years old are able to get counseling support. Young adults 18-24 years old are also able to get counseling support. Families meet with their therapist to develop a treatment plan to address concerns and improve family functioning.

Children’s Cabinet therapists hold a variety of mental health licenses and internship licenses including Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Professional Counselors, and Licensed Clinical Social Workers. We also provide training opportunities for clinical students.

Connect with Your Teen Workshops

Connect With Your Teen Workshops help parents and caregivers communicate with their teen in positive and healthy ways using Living Ideation (c) concepts. Participants learn how to talk to their teens more effectively, learn how to recognize their teen’s current skillsets and talents, learn how to boost and improve mental health, learn strategies that can help a teen’s mindset, and consider ways to grow their teen’s connections and achievements. A single workshop is all a parent/caregiver needs to begin this shift. Parents and caregivers can attend as many additional workshops as they would like to get reminders and feedback.

All participants are provided a workbook and wallet card to prompt conversations with their teens. At this time, all workshops will be held virtually using Zoom.
