CKA: Observation & Assessment

Through discussion, role play, and demonstration this class will explore the reasons for and uses of observation in preschool classrooms. We will look at different types of assessment and use them as well as observation as tools, to understand how they assist in determining child learning outcomes.

Training Objectives:

1 . Gain an understanding of what makes observation an important tool

2 . Learn how to do simple assessments on a daily basis

3 . Gain an understanding of why observation and assessment are important in early care and education

Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training. If you have questions or concerns, or need additional information about this process, feel free to contact the Professional Development Training Coordinator at 775-856-6200.
