This training will discuss how children learn and why sensory activities are crucial to development. We will explore the five senses, sensory avoidance and sensory seeking behaviors while relating the information to how we plan learning centers.

Training Objectives:

1. Participants will understand how children learn and why sensory activities are crucial to development.

2. Participants will be able to identify the Five Senses and how to incorporate them into learning centers.

3. Participants will have a basic understanding of Sensory Processing Disorder.

Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training. If you have questions or concerns, or need additional information about this process, feel free to contact the Professional Development Training Coordinator at 775-856-6200.
