“I’m a mother of two kids—a 2 ½ year old and a 9-month-old—just working on getting things settled and straight.”
When Jasmine reached out to The Children’s Cabinet, she was in a tough place. Food insecurity was her biggest challenge, and the pressure of providing for two little ones was overwhelming.
“I was struggling with food at the time,” she says.
That’s when The Children’s Cabinet stepped in. Through the Early Childhood Community Health Worker (ECCHW) program, Jasmine found a path to the critical support she needed.
“They provided food for me and my family,” she shares. “And they also helped me during Christmas and the holidays.”
The kindness and support she received made a lasting difference—not just in her situation, but in her outlook.
“I’m doing a lot better and I’m in a better place,” Jasmine says now, months later.
To anyone thinking about reaching out, Jasmine offers this advice:
“It’s never what we want to do, but they make it so easy and welcoming to ask for help when you need it. It helps so much in the end—not only you, but others.”
