CKA: Human Growth and Development

Executive functions are brain-based skills that enable children to manage their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions in order to attain their goals. In this session, we will look at what these skills are, why they are important, and how early childhood educators may actively encourage their development.

Training Objectives:

1. Learners will be able to understand the importance of how the brain develops focusing on cognitive and executive function development unfolds.

2. Learn ways to support these early years of cognitive and executive functions development.

3. Learners will have more confidence in caring for children and supporting the overall importance of health development in the cognitive and executive functions of the brain.
