Success in providing positive outcomes for children and youth is determined by how well the afterschool program partners with parents and families. Participants will be able to learn what are the benefits of partnering with parents. They will learn some steps in involving parents in the afterschool program.

Training Objectives:

1. Discuss how to acquaint participants with the benefits of involving parents in afterschool programs.

2. Learn strategies for involving parents in afterschool programming.

3. Discuss ways to tie it into their early childhood environment.

Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training. If you have questions or concerns, or need additional information about this process, feel free to contact the Professional Development Training Coordinator at 702-825-8978
