Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect

This class reviews signs and symptoms of abuse/neglect/maltreatment, how to respond to a child’s disclosure, how to make a report, and the process once a report is made.

Training Objectives:

1 . By the end of the session, participants will recognize the signs and symptoms of abuse/neglect/maltreatment.

2 . By the end of the session, participants will demonstrate a strategy in response to a child who is disclosing potential abuse/neglect/maltreatment.

3 . By the end of the session, participants will identify the child protection process before and after a report is made.

Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training.
