The Art of Engaging Families in Afterschool

Learning Summary: This training will help support the participants as they understand the value of parent engagement in the afterschool setting. Discussion will revolve around thinking of ways to let families become more involved with the aftershool programs. Participants will also learn how to evaluate a program’s effectiveness where family involvement is concerned – based on NV out-of-school time program quality standards.

Learning Outcomes:

1 . Learners will outline the importance of family engagement in the afterschool setting.

2 . Learners will describe ways in which a family can be engaged in the afterschool programs.

3 . Learners will apply their understanding based on the NV out-of-school time quality standards.

Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three-question quiz or test at the end of each training.
