In this module, we will be going over the developing brain and how it is affected by children’s experiences and interactions with the important people in their lives. Providers play a critical role in supporting young children’s social-emotional development. Brain connections are experience dependent; early experiences last a lifetime.

Training Objectives:

  1. Learners will understand how social-emotional development unfolds in the first five years of a child’s life.
  2. Learners will identify areas of the brain involved in social interactions and emotional reactions.
  3. Learners will discuss the effects of stress on social-emotional development.

Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training. If you have questions or concerns, or need additional information about this process, feel free to contact the Professional Development Training Coordinator at 702-245-8555
