Understanding Suspension and Expulsion in Early Childhood

This training defines suspension and expulsion in early childhood settings and examines their impact on young children, families, and programs. Participants will explore root causes of challenging behavior and learn proactive, relationship-based strategies to prevent exclusion, strengthen social-emotional development, and ensure classroom staff feel supported and confident.
Training Objectives:
•Learners will be able to define suspension and expulsion as it relates to early childhood.
•Learners will be able to have gained new strategies to reduce suspensions and expulsions in their setting.
•Learners will identify the role positive relationships play in reducing suspensions & expulsions.
Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training.
